Hypnosis is a method of inducing a state of heightened suggestibility and responsiveness, in a willing and cooperative subject, to acceptable ideas. Anyone who can daydream can be hypnotized. Nobody can be hypnotized against their will. But “willpower” has nothing to do with hypnosis. Hypnosis is effort-less.
In a clinical, health care, or counseling setting, Clinical Hypnosis works with the client’s or patient’s permission by bypassing the critical factor of his or her conscious mind.
